Crisis Response and Resilience Program
Overview
The overall goal of the UNDP funded Iraqi Crisis Response and Resilience Program (ICRRP) is to support the Government of Iraq’s efforts to prevent and respond to crises, and play a catalytic role in developing resilience against shocks stemming from renewed violence, natural disasters and/or instability.
Activities
Delivered capacity assessments and technical training to 14 field offices and the Baghdad headquarters of the Joint Coordination and Monitoring Centers (JCMC) in the following areas: Crisis management; Information management; Analysis and reporting; Needs and gap assessments and Risk assessments.
Conducted capacity and needs assessments and documented finding in reports produced for the UNDP.
Facilitated scenario-based exercises, and worked with JCMC offices to improve monitoring and response to threats from natural disasters as well as breakdowns in service delivery, livelihoods, protection mechanisms, and social cohesion.
Results
This program resulted in measurable improvements of JCMC offices to identify, monitor, and respond to crisis. The project also delivered reports and findings to the UNDP regarding specific capacity improvements, challenges, and risks facing JCMC offices in order to inform future programming in this important area.
