Project Bloom

Overview

Project Bloom is a Kurdistan Regional Government initiative designed to promote economic growth. This is the first time such a project has been implemented through private entities in the Kurdistan Region, and Top Mountain is proud to have been selected as the implementing partner. The goal of project Bloom is to catalyze innovation, employment, and prosperity with loans and technical assistance for small and medium businesses.

Activities

  • Conducting outreach and marketing with the business community.

  • Hosting a launch event designed to raise awareness about Bloom, and introduce the program to stakeholders from the government and private sector, foster collaboration and support for the initiative.

  • Conducting due diligence of loan applicants and working with SMEs to create business viability assessments.

  • Delivering consulting and business development services to loan recipients.

Expected Results

  • Provide up to 25 scalable SMEs with business loans that they cannot currently easily access due to stringent private banking requirements with a maximum loan size of IQD 150 million (approx. USD 102,000).

  • Maximize the impact of disbursed loans through business consulting services.

  • Increase trust in, and use of, private banks.

  • Increase job creation opportunities.
